STEM Week at QPIA was a fantastic success, sparking curiosity and creativity across all year groups. We hope your children have come home each day full of new ideas and explanations about how things work in the world around them!
Reception classes had an exciting visit from STEM ambassadors at Sunseeker, where the children learned about engineering and design in a hands-on way.
Year 1 explored the world of technology with a fascinating session on how infrared imaging cameras are used in helicopters, expanding their understanding of how technology aids in safety and efficiency.
Year 2 had a thrilling experience with the RNLI, where they got to build and test their own boats in an experiment to see which ones could float – and which ones would sink!
Penguins and Puffins class also worked with graduates from Ultra Energy to explore floating and sinking, learning about basic scientific principles through fun, interactive activities.
Finally, a few lucky STEM heroes had the incredible opportunity to work with a team of engineers from Brockenhurst College, programming robots and diving into the world of coding and robotics.
A huge thank you to all our visitors, staff, and parents who helped inspire and motivate our children throughout the week. It’s clear that QPIA is nurturing some future STEM stars, with students showing a real passion for science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. What an inspiring week!
