PFA

Thank You!

What a fantastic night on Friday (26th April 2024) for our PFA Quiz Night.  Thank you to everyone that came and supported it!  A big congratulations to the winning team, ‘The Brody Bunch’ who won the hamper of goodies kindly donated by JP Morgan.

The lucky winner of the Holiday Cottage Raffle was also drawn at the Quiz, a big congratulations to Kelly, Andy and Xander.  Have a fantastic time and please send us a postcard!

A huge thank you to Andy Parker of Country and Coastal Cottages for donating this amazing prize.  Andy has a long history with the school as both his children and grandchildren have attended the school over a number of years.

The Quiz night and Raffle raised an amazing £1,125, we cannot thank you enough for your support of these events.

The success of recent events means that we are able to make a donation of £3,000 to school this week, towards last year’s build of the outdoor classroom.  There are still several phases to go of this fantastic project but your continued generosity has enabled us to make this significant contribution.

With huge thanks

The PFA

What is the PFA?

We are a registered charity who raise money to buy resources for the school, in agreement with the Head Teacher, to enhance the curriculum and your child’s learning experiences.  We enjoy organising fund raising events and try to have fun doing it!

Who is in the PFA?

We are parents who care a great deal about our children’s education and making their time at QPIA a happy and fulfilling one.  The committee comprises a Chairperson, Vice Chair, Secretary and Treasurer.  There is also a staff representative in addition to the Head Teacher.  We also have at least two parent representatives from each year group.

What is involved?

You can be as involved as you want in the PFA.  You may want to be an active member and attend all committee meetings or you may prefer to help us on the lead up to, or at, fund raising events.  We have a meeting every 4-6 weeks on Thursday evenings at the school and more regularly before key fundraising events.

How do we raise money?

Throughout the year we organise a variety of fundraising events.

  • Christmas Bazaar – this is held in early December.  We ask children to donate unwanted toys.  Then on the day of the Bazaar the children all bring in £1 to spend on toys.  The toys are priced differently so it is an opportunity to develop their maths skills as well!  The children love it and it is an excellent way of recycling old toys and raising money for the school at the same time!  At this event we would require helpers to sort through donations and organise them ready for the Bazaar.  We also need people to run stalls and be ‘shop keepers’.
  • Spring – we always organise something special for the children around Easter time.  This year we also had a book sale on World Book Day.
  • Summer – the main event of the year is the Summer Fair.  We have stalls, games, dance performances, entertainers, pony palace, bouncy castles and so much more! It is a wonderful way to bring the school community together and celebrate another busy year.  The Summer Fair is when we raise the large majority of our money.  It is a fantastic event to be part of and we always need plenty of people to help with the organisation on the run up to the fair as well as running stalls on the day.

We also do smaller events throughout the year such as cake sales and we welcome any new suggestions for fundraising ideas!

We hope your child enjoys their time at the school and we look forward to welcoming you!
