Year 2

Year 2 Sports Day 7th July 2023

HMS Victory Trip March 2023

Year 2 had a fantastic time during their recent trip to Portsmouth Historic Dockyard. We had lots of challenges to complete which helped to further our knowledge of HMS Victory and The Battle of Trafalgar.

Being able to go on board the ship was an amazing experience and there were many parts which fascinated the children; especially seeing Admiral Nelson's bed and learning about how the guns were fired.

We are very proud of how the children represented the school and we received several positive comments about their behaviour. Since returning, the children have already produced some wonderful writing which reflects the learning gained from the experience.

January-February 2023

As part of our Tinga Tinga topic, Year 2 have been learning about African animals; how they are adapted to survive in their habitat and why some of them are endangered.

To celebrate the end of this very popular topic, we had a ‘Wear it Wild’ day where the children came to school dressed as an animal and bought in a donation for the WWF charity. Each class then voted for which animal they would like to adopt. The children were very excited to have recently received their adoption certificates and cuddly toy!

Great Fire of London re-enactment September 2022

We had the Treehouse Theatre come to visit us to support our Great Fire of London topic, the children travelled back in time to 2nd September 1666 and re-enacted the events of the Great Fire of London.
