Reactivation of the Bug Club reading resource for Years 1 & 2

School code: mkpl

Once again we have access to a range of e-books, via Bug Club, these are all linked to the colour band reading system that we use in school. These colour bands are linked to the phonics that your child is able to recognise, use and apply in their reading. The login details and passwords that were given out over the summer term are still active, if you have lost this information or the password no longer works, please contact your class teacher via the class email or school office email.

Once they are logged in they will be able to access reading books in the My Stuff area of the site, that have been allocated to them by their class teacher.

Below are two links to short and very useful YouTube videos that will help you understand how Bug Club works.

Coming to School in Bubbles by Kezia Matthews

Your child could win a £10 National Book Token for each of their classmates
and surprise them all when schools reopen!

Encourage your children to create a fabulous National Book Token design while they're learning from home, and they could return to school with National Book Tokens for all! Whether it's their school crest doodled in ink, a pencil drawing of the entire class,
or something completely different.
National Book Tokens will choose one child's design to put on a National Book Tokens gift card every week for seven weeks.
When schools open up again, the young designer and their classmates will each receive a £10 National Book Token
emblazoned with the winning artwork – to inspire them to choose their next favourite book from their local bookshop.

Class email addresses.

Below you will find a list of email addresses to help the children stay in contact with their teacher.

As a staff we realise that the children will be missing their friends and familiar adults from school. This gives them an opportunity to share the work they have been doing; the baking, the growing and gardening, the arts and crafts, the ways they've been keeping fit, models made out of all sorts of materials, problem solving, investigations and many more imaginative activities. So please use the email accounts to send us photos, short video clips or just to say hello.

We may take a few days to reply but we will look at all of the emails, some of the adults are busy working in school with the children whose parents must go to work to keep us safe, and others are busy working on school activities at home.

All the staff are missing the children and look forward to hearing from them (with your helpsmiley).
