There was lots of excitement and laughter in Year 2 on Wednesday, when we started off our new topic Lunch at the Lighthouse. The children were treated to the story of The Lighthouse Keeper’s Lunch with a slight twist…their teachers dressed up, bringing the story to life! The children were enthralled as the story began to unfold, and Mr Grinling’s lunch kept getting intercepted by some very mischievous seagulls. I am sure many of you will have heard from your children all about Mrs Grinling’s cunning plan to keep the seagulls away from the lunch basket…a big dollop of mustard! Definitely not a seagull’s favourite food!
We look forward to some fantastic work this half term, leading on from our Wow Day. The lighthouses that the children have been making over half term are truly remarkable. So much work and creativity have gone in to them. Year 2 enjoyed their tour of the lighthouses, as we all wove around the classrooms to see each other’s creations. What a great first week back!
