Message from the School Leadership team
Seasons greetings from the School Leadership Team!
As we look back over this Autumn term, each year group remembers some highlights in what has been an exciting and busy term.
YR teachers are all delighted by the way the children have settled into school life. Our ‘Dark Nights and Sparkly Lights’ topic was very successful, and the children really enjoyed visiting each class to learn about different aspects of our topic.
In Y1 we have been very pleased at the successful transition and the love for learning that so many of the children demonstrate. Since half term we have been busy exploring life in Victorian times and even ‘went back in time’ to experience a day in a Victorian school. All the children – and staff! – looked wonderful in their costumes and we have been impressed at how much the children have learned, including extending their learning at home.
Y2 have had a very busy term full of new ideas in Literacy, Maths and Science. One highlight was when we gathered in the hall to watch the teachers perform ‘The Lighthouse Keeper’s Lunch’ with a special guest performance from Mrs Wood as Hamish the cat. This was a really enjoyable way to start off our topic, helping us to focus on our descriptive writing.
Each year group produced a wonderful nativity performance or Christmas assembly for the parents and we were all so proud of their achievements.
Thank you for all your generous gifts and kind wishes, we are all very touched by your generosity and it is greatly appreciated.
We look forward to another full and exciting term…after a happy and restful holiday!
